Documents required for applying a Fresh Passport under Tatkal

Tatkal is a fast processing method to get the passport quickly. Given below is a list of documents required a fresh passport in Tatkal scheme. • • Proof Of Date Of Birth – Birth Certificate/Transfer/School leaving/Matriculation Certificate issued by the school/Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar/Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC)/PAN Card /Driving License ( need any 1 )

who can issue verification certificate for tatkal passport
i. An Under Secretary/ Deputy Secretary/ Director/ Joint Secretary/ Add. Secretary/ Special Secretary/ Secretary/ Cabinet Secretary to Government of India.ii. A Director/ Joint Secretary/ Additional Secretary/ Special Secretary/ Chief Secretary to a State Govt.iii. A Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ First Class Judicial Magistrate/ Additional DM/ District Magistrate of the district of residence of the applicant.iv. A District Superintendent of Police, DIG/IG/DGP of the district of residence of the applicant.

v. A Major and above in the Army, Lt. Commander and above in the Navy and Sq. Leader and in the Air Force.

vi. The General Manager of a Public Sector Undertaking

vii. All members of any All India Service or Central Service who are equivalent to or above the rank of an Under Secretary to the Government i.e. in the pay scale of Rupees 10,000-15,200 or above.

viii. Resident Commissioners/ Additional Resident Commissioners of all State Governments based in Delhi.

ix. Concerned Tehsildars or Concerned SHO for an applicant staying in the area under his/her jurisdiction.

Documents Required For Tatkal Passport Renewal

You can also apply for Reissue of passport under Tatkal. But only for few conditions, tatkal is applicable in Re-issue/Renewal of Passport. When your passport is expired or due to expire, then you have to apply for passport re-issue. If you need your passport quickly then you can apply it under Tatkal. Given below is the list of documents required for Renewal of Indian passport before expiry and after expiry under tatkal.

• • • Within three years after expiry of old passport–Tatkaal
    • Original old Passport and Self-Attested Passport Copy (First Two And Last Two Pages, Including ECR/Non-ECR Page And The Page Of Observation (If Any), Made By Passport Issuing Authority).
    • Self-attested copy of the ECR/Non-ECR page
    • Residence proof – Aadhaar Card / Water Bill / Telephone (landline or postpaid mobile bill)/ Electricity bill/ Income Tax Assessment Order/Election Commission Photo ID card/ Proof of Gas Connection/ Certificate from Employer of reputed companies on letter head  ( any three )
    • Educational proof- 10^th + 12^th + degree certificate ( if completed )

    • Local Area Police Station

If the pages in the passport are exhausted ( No Blank pages)- Tatkaal

When your pages of your current passport got exhausted, you can apply for another passport under renewal/re-issue and if you need a passport quickly, then you can apply under Tatkal.

The application cannot be processed under the Tatkaal scheme.
