Today by morning start your tour from Pondicherry to Tanjore. En-route visit CHIDAMBARAM TEMPLE-this temple rebuilds at 12th century by Chola dynasty and it is evidence of the Dravidian architecture. Here Shiva seams as cosmic ecstatic dancer of this temple.
GANGAIKONDACHOLAPURAM- the city founded by Rajendra Chola I, for commercial victory of pala dynasty. The name means the town of the chola who took over Ganga or who defeated kings near Ganga. This city famous for great Lord Maha Shiva Temple.
AIRAVATESWARAR TEMPLE, DARASURAM- this stone temple incorporates a chariot structure for major vedic and puranic deities such as varuna, Brahma, Vishnu, Indira, Agni, Durga, Kama, Rati and others.

BRIHADEESWARA TEMPLE, TANJORE- this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, it was build by Raja Raja Chola I. The construction was completed in 1010 which it means that temple is more than 1000 years ole. According to the inscriptions present in the temple, Kunjara Mallan Raja Raja Perumthachan was the engineer and architect of this famous temple.
The temple has the world’s tallest vimanam (temple tower) and its Kumbam (the structure on the top) weighs approximately 80 tons. The temple has a huge statue of Nandi (sacred bull) at the entrance. The statue is carved out of a single rock and weighs around 20 tons. The Lingam inside the temple is 3.7 meters tall.
The entire temple structure is made out of granite.The temple is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu.
En-route visit TRICHY UCCHI PILLAYAR TEMPLE- you can enjoy the city view of Trichy, Sri Rangam, river cauvery from this temple. There are 417 steps to reach the hill temple. The hill fort build during the rule of Mahendra Pallava-Gunaparan during the sixth century according to the epigraphic evidence.
SRIRANGAM TEMPLE-The Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple located at Srirangam in Trichy. Built in the Dravidian architectural style, the temple is spread across a total area of 156 acres, and is dedicated to the Hindu deity, Lord Vishnu or Ranganatha. The River Kaveri flows on one side of the temple; there is a distributary of the river running on the other side called the Kollidam.

After breakfast at hotel, visit MEENAKSHI AMMAN TEMPLE, MADURAI- it is located on the southern bank of the Vaigai River in the temple city of Madurai.This temple was also mentioned in ancient Tamil literature was destroyed by the infamous Muslim invader Malik Kafur in 1310 and rebuilt later by Madurai’s great ruler Thirumalai Nayak during the period 1623 to 1655.
This temple displays the splendid architecture having 12 gopurams (towers) ranging from 45 to 52 meters (147 to 170 feet) in height, paintings and sculptures all over, huge Mandapams.
There are an estimated 33,000 sculptures in the temple. The massive Nataraja sculpture is enclosed in a huge silver altar and hence called Velli Ambalam.

Today after breakfast, check out from Madurai hotel start driving to Rameswaram. Upon arrival visit RAMESWARAM TEMPLE- Ramanathaswamy’ literally means ‘The Master of Rama’, which refers to Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to have been established and worshiped by Rama, an avatar of the god Vishnu, to absolve the sins created during the Ramayana war at Sri Lanka.

After breakfast at hotel check out and do the remaining sightseeing of Rameswaram. Later drive to Pondicherry.
