Passport for Newborn Baby in India/ Passport for Infants.

• It’s always better to apply for a passport for the newborn baby rather applying when planning for an international trip.One has to check that both the parent’s name of new born baby is endorsed in each of their passports. You need to check that your spouse name is added in your passport before applying the passport for the little ones.
• If not then first add it and apply for the baby. Therefore it is always better to do all these things in before to avoid the last minute hassle.
• You also need to get the birth certificate for the baby before applying for a passport and check carefully that both the parent’s full names are included correctly as that will be reflected in the passport.

Documents Required for Minor Passport

1. Birth certificate
2. Residence proof- For minor applicants, present address proof in the name of parent(s) can be submitted.
   i.Parent: Aadhar card, voter ID card, driving license Bank passbook (any 2)
   ii.Minor: Aadhar card
3. Both Parent’s passport in original
   i.Parents should attest the documents for minor applicants.
   ii.Photocopy of child’s birth certificate – attested by Parents
4. Annexure D – Declaration signed by Parents on plain paper –Download the Annexure D
5. If the spouse name is not endorsed in the passport, then marriage certificate can be shown.

The Passport Photo for a Newborn Baby

As per the passport rules, minor applicant below the age of 4 yrs should carry a passport size photograph at the Passport Seva Kendra for the process of passport application. There is certain specification to be followed while carrying the photograph. Given below are the points to be noted before visiting the PSK.

• Only one photograph should be pasted in the application.
• The photograph should be in color and should be in size 4.5cm length x 3.5cm width and affix the photo in the box meant for that in the passport application.
• It’s advisable to have a plain background most probably white in color, and the baby dress could be in dark color.
• The frontal view of the baby face should be completely visible in the photograph.
• The face should be in the center of the photo, and both the ears should be visible, and the edges of the face should be clearly visible in the photograph.

Applying for  a passport-Process

The process for applying a passport for a newborn baby is as similar as for an adult.

• Create a login id and password in Passport Seva official website
  or you can apply with us filling up the online application  or call us for the guidance visit here
• Click apply for a new passport and fill the form
• Finally, check the filled form and submit and proceed for online payment.
• Online payment can be done by using credit/debit card, sbi challan or sbi wallet method.
• After you completed the online payment, you can schedule the appointment for a direct visit to Passport Seva with all required documents and application receipt.

When you have completed all the process with the required documents, then you will get the passport quickly for your little one.
